We have finally received all of the specs and interior pictures of the 2010 Chevy Camaro. For months we have received more than our fair share of pictures of the production version of the Camaro – but never before have we gotten a chance to peek at what it looks like from the inside.
The Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS trim, equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Of course, that doesn’t account for the very-obviously-marked RS car that is shown in the official photos, so who knows what the whole story is.
GM will be offering the Chevrolet Camaro with four-cylinder engines and also with V6 and V8 engines. This is to keep up with the economical cars that the U.S. has to offer. They believe that only 30% of the Camaro sales will be with the V8 models and will feature a 400bhp-odd version of the 6.0 litre block that can also be found in the Corvette.
The bulk of sales will be of the 3.6 V6 (as used in the Cadillac CTS, developed for around 300bhp), at least until the four-cylinder models – probably using the turbocharged GM Ecotec 2.0-litre – arrive. However, a 425bhp top-line SS model is still said to be under consideration.
There is no doubt that the 2010 Chevy Camaro will make it to the showroom floor on time and sources say that it will give the value division of GM a powerful competitor to the current Dodge Challenger and Mustang. However, there is no doubt that most people will be likely to purchase the V6 model despite the fact that they will get more power from the V8.
