We were excited when we heard that GM would be bringing back the Camaro and pulling it out of retirement. Now we are even more excited to hear that GM is bringing back the Z/28 variant of the 2010 Camaro. The new model – which is already in development – has been given a new rear spoiler, front bumper, re-shaped rear bumper, and 20” wheels.

Underneath the hood is a 6.2 liter supercharged LSA V8 engine that comes straight from the Cadillac CTS-V and pushes out 556 horsepower and 551 pound foot of torque. The top speed is said to be around 193 mph for the manual version and 175 for the automatic. This will give it the ability to rev from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

Unfortunately there is one thing that could keep this classic muscle car out of our hands off the streets. Everything is in the balance of GM corporate and whether or not they feel that it will be to the benefit of the company. The fact that the Z/28 is a gas guzzler sports car instead of a consumer car could hurt its chances.

But despite this flaw rumors tell us that there are many high powered execs from GM that are doing what they can to market the muscle car. The fact that they have already put money into building it should mean that it should be released to the public so that they can get their money’s worth.

GM revealed their redesigned yellow Camaro that was used during the filming of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” during the Chicago Auto Show. GM Vice President of Global Design – Ed Wellburn – worked closely with the director of the two movies – Michael Bay to create a design that would work well with the sequel. They had to work the new look into the plot.

“The actual Autobot is from the first one,” said Ed Wellburn to MTV News. “The car that’s on display is the new car for the sequel. Bumblebee was injured in the first movie,” he said. “When it comes back in the new movie, it’s bulked up; it’s stronger.” Wellburn personally oversaw the new design changes to make sure that they would match up with the new and darker theme of the movie.

“The hood is a more powerful hood design,” Wellburn explained. “We wanted to make sure that it was clearly linked to the original car—same color, same graphics. We toyed, ‘Well maybe it should be a convertible.’ But no, this is about Bumblebee who has been rebuilt and is back stronger than ever.”

He went on to say what other dramatic changes that they had made. “The front end’s a bit different,” he pointed out. “You can see the aggressive vertical air intakes that are below the headlamps. It’s a different wheel design.”

People who will go to see the movie will notice that the new Bumblebee Camaro is more closely matched with the production model. Unlike in the first movie in which he strongly resembled the concept version. On the big screen we will be given a taste of all the power they put into it.

Those who are looking forward to getting their hands on the new Shelby GT500 Mustang and the 2010 Chevy Camaro can do so and help others in return. The two new muscle cars are being auctioned for charity.

General Motors will be auctioning off the rights to the very first model of the 2010 Chevy Camaro while Ford will be selling the rights to the first model of the 2010 Shelby GT500. Both will be auctioned on January 11th – 18th at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. These are only two of 14 cars that will be auctioned off.

The bidder of the new Camaro will be able to notice the VIN 100001 showing how it’s the first model. They can also choose the V6 or V8 engine, manual or automatic transmission options, and also the color. All of the proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

Proceeds for the new Shelby GT500 (which gets 540 horsepower) will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The prototypes will be shown at the auction and the winners will be given the models when they roll off the assembly lines.

The fact that the economy is in the dumps could affect the sales of GM’s new 2010 Chevy Camaro. For months consumers have been waiting expectantly for it – but with the looms of something bad in the air they are not sure if it is something they can afford. In order to boost the appeal GM is offering the model in more trim levels.

But is seems that this will do little to help true Camaro enthusiasts. The main reason for this is the starting price. Consumers are having a difficult time trying to pay MSRP for a car that they in turn will be stripping.

That is why GM Performance Parts has decided to offer the Camaro body in white. This will help those Camaro racers on a budget to avoid waiting 10 years for a chassis that is discounted.

The new Camaro BIW package will be a full body assembly structure that is available for $7,000. It will go on sale during the first quarter of 2009. The chassis will not have a VIN number so consumers will not have to worry about street registration. However, you must submit an application to Gm Performance Parts for approval before the transaction can go through.

After weeks of quiet we have finally received more news concerning the 2010 Chevy Camaro. The news comes right after the Camaro SS made it debut during the Indy Bash 2008. According to a source, dealers are taking orders for the new Camaro starting October 13th.

A list of performance and also appearance accessories were revealed and included rear diffuser, rear spoiler, different engine covers for the V6 and the V8 models, ground effects package, different kinds of stripes. Performance parts include shorty headers, cold-air intake, catback exhaust, and Hurst short throw shifter.

The accessories for the interior include a body colored lighted trim kit, carbon trim kit, floormats, chrome and painted wheels, and a classic looking subwoofer. Pricing for the 2010 Camaro has not yet been released – but we imagine it will as soon as October 13th rolls around if not a few days before.

He took remote control cars, drove them through paint, and then used them to paint a picture of the muscle cr.

Ian’s artwork was named the “Popbank Color” and was displayed at the British International Motor Show. This is truly an honor for Ian who said that he even used a few GM RC cars to create the painting.

Next up will be a live demonstration of him painting a Chevrolet Lacetti World Touring Car, which requires, says Ian, “skill with the remote control cars.”

We have finally received all of the specs and interior pictures of the 2010 Chevy Camaro. For months we have received more than our fair share of pictures of the production version of the Camaro – but never before have we gotten a chance to peek at what it looks like from the inside.

The Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS trim, equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Of course, that doesn’t account for the very-obviously-marked RS car that is shown in the official photos, so who knows what the whole story is.

Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy. Underneath the retro sheetmetal is a full independent suspension and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant, and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.

GM will be offering the Chevrolet Camaro with four-cylinder engines and also with V6 and V8 engines. This is to keep up with the economical cars that the U.S. has to offer. They believe that only 30% of the Camaro sales will be with the V8 models and will feature a 400bhp-odd version of the 6.0 litre block that can also be found in the Corvette.

The bulk of sales will be of the 3.6 V6 (as used in the Cadillac CTS, developed for around 300bhp), at least until the four-cylinder models – probably using the turbocharged GM Ecotec 2.0-litre – arrive. However, a 425bhp top-line SS model is still said to be under consideration.

General Motors has confirmed that the Camaro will come in right-hand-drive form for the UK; it will arrive here in early 2010 with sales of around 600 cars a year planned. Half of these are expected to be convertible versions. While initially GM had considered only offering UK buyers high-spec V8s, this may now be revised.

There is no doubt that the 2010 Chevy Camaro will make it to the showroom floor on time and sources say that it will give the value division of GM a powerful competitor to the current Dodge Challenger and Mustang. However, there is no doubt that most people will be likely to purchase the V6 model despite the fact that they will get more power from the V8.

Rising gas prices will make sure of that point, and GM’s execs know this. Mark LaNeve, GM’s vice president of sales and marketing, is quoted on Inside Line as saying, “Everyone thinks we’ll be positioning the Camaro as a burn-ass hot rod. But that’s only about 30 percent of the business. The other two-thirds will come from 27-mpg V6 sales, with a significant female share.”

This truth, in fact, mimics past Camaro and Mustang sales. Sure, a large portion of the past pony car segment was made up of the go-fast models, but the largest percentage of sales has always been of lesser performing and therefore less expensive models. A four-cylinder model is also being considered, though that option is not yet ready for prime time, according to LaNeve. Not surprisingly, he also suggests that it’s not just the Camaro that is likely to get smaller, more fuel efficient engine options. For our part, we’d gladly welcome GM’s fine turbocharged, direct-inject Ecotec engine as an option in more models.

The Tampa police are confused as to how a red Camaro managed to drive off the interstate at 2:30 Wednesday morning.

Authorities said that the driver of the Camaro was headed northbound on I-4 when it lost control and drove through an embankement. Officials say it fell atleast 50 feet. Tampa Police tell us there were two girls inside. One of them was taken to Tampa General Hospital with a head injury.
